Classes
At Madison Music Foundry we believe that students get the most out music lessons when they can supplement the one-on-one time with other activities. We have a number of events that are available exclusively to Foundry students for no extra charge. We also have numerous workshops available to everyone. We’re always looking for new ideas, too. If you have a particular workshop you’d like to see, please let us know.

Intro to Sound Equipment
This first installment of the Recording series covers in depth the physics and mechanics involved in capturing sound and turning it into an electronic signal. For the final class, students will participate in setting up live sound for a show at a local music venue.
Digital Recording
The second installment covers the specifics of recording digitally including an overview of recording software, hardware setup, and audio interfaces with an in depth look at a common recording interface (Logic or Pro Tools). Students will walk through the process from recording to mixing and editing. For the final class students will record a live performance at a music venue.
Advanced Recording and Mixing
The third installment covers the entire recording process in greater detail from pre-production all the way through mastering. It will cover theories on mixing using an actual recording. The class culminates in a live recording session at Blast House Studios.
